Canoe Vows and Pine Breeze Promises: Lindsay & Aaron’s Wedding at Crossroads Christian Camp | Bradley, Maine

There’s something magical about the woods after the rain.

On May 31st, Lindsay & Aaron were married at Crossroads Christian Camp in Bradley, Maine—a venue tucked into the forest, perched right on the edge of a peaceful lake. The morning began with steady rain, setting a dramatic and moody tone. But right on cue, the skies cleared just in time for their ceremony, portraits, and a canoe ride that turned into one of the most heartfelt moments of the day.

Lindsay got ready in one of the rustic cabins on site with her bridesmaids, all wearing soft pastel gowns that matched the spring “coastal grandma” palette of their wedding theme. Meanwhile, Aaron and his groomsmen prepared nearby, sharing laughs and calming nerves among the pines.

The ceremony took place under towering trees beside the lake, with a wooden cross draped in blue fabric as their backdrop. As guests gathered on benches and bubbles floated through the air, Lindsay and Aaron exchanged vows, surrounded by their closest family and friends.

But the most intimate part of the day came just after the ceremony—when Lindsay and Aaron quietly paddled out onto the lake in a canoe to read their private vows to one another. No audience, no distractions. Just the sound of the water and the quiet connection between two people beginning their life together.

After the lakeside portraits, including a playful dip kiss on the dock and a few quiet moments on the wooded cabin steps, the couple joined their guests for a joyful reception. The evening featured their first dance to “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” by Lady A, heartfelt speeches, a cake cutting, and all the classic reception games. The rain returned only at nightfall, gently closing the day the way it began—like a full-circle moment.

From handmade touches like heirloom teapots to a potential DIY bride-and-groom quilt, every detail reflected Lindsay & Aaron’s personal style and love story. Their celebration felt like a true reflection of who they are: warm, intentional, and joyfully rooted in family.
