Yellow Roses and Foliage: Erika & Andrew’s Fall Wedding at the Maine Wedding Barn & Event Center | Minot, Maine
Erika and Andrew were married on an October Saturday at the Maine Wedding Barn & Event Center at Farview Farm in Minot, where the lawns roll out toward hills already turning gold and red. Yellow roses, sage bridesmaid dresses, soft neutral suits, and their dog Penny ran through the whole day, and the night filled up with a dance floor full of light-up wands.
The morning started at the farm house with a gown hanging in a sunny window, a table of details, and a lot of laughing. Yellow roses showed up in her bouquet, the invitation sat beside the rings, and the bridesmaids kept the toasts going in matching sage. Penny, of course, joined the lineup. Over in the barn, Andrew took his time with the little things: a bow tie, a cuff, a watch.
Farview earns its name. The ceremony lawn sits at the edge of the property with a white gazebo and rows of chairs facing the fall color, and the barn is all warm wood, chandeliers, and string lights.
Erika saved her first moment for her dad, tucked beside the red barn with fall color all around them. His reaction says everything. Then Andrew got his turn out on the lawn, with the hillside glowing behind them, and the nerves melted into hugs, held hands, and a kiss or two.
Penny, in her own wedding day bandana, got portraits with the couple too, and she took the assignment seriously.
The ceremony was held out on the lawn, with the white gazebo waiting at the end of the aisle. A reserved seat in memory of Erika's mom held her photo, and as Erika, her dad, and a few others walked down the aisle, each placed a yellow rose in a vase on the chair beside it. Andrew's emotions showed up before Erika did, and when she reached the end of the aisle she hugged her dad. They said their vows and traded rings, and sealed it with a kiss and a dip.
Right after, the wedding party spilled out onto the open lawn as the light turned golden. The bridesmaids threw their bouquets up and cheered, the groomsmen lined up in soft neutral suits and showed off their socks, and everyone got a turn in front of the sunset.
Then it was just Erika and Andrew. The sky went peach, the field started to glow, and they slowed down and let the evening happen: a long embrace, a dip, and a walk across the grass with her train trailing behind.
Back in the barn, Erika and Andrew danced their way through the doors for their grand entrance and went straight into their first dance under the chandeliers and string lights. Andrew danced with his mom, Erika danced with her dad, and then it was time for dinner and toasts.
Once the light-up wands came out, the dance floor did not let up. Bridesmaids, groomsmen, and friends of all ages packed in under the colored lights, with Erika and Andrew right in the middle of it.
Fall color on every hillside, yellow roses in every hand, and a dog who showed up for the important moments. Congratulations, Erika and Andrew.
